Elsa has grown up with horses all her life both in a racing and non racing capacity. After university Elsa spent time in Ireland working at Clonshire Stud for Bryan Murphy, riding and breaking youngsters. She then went to Dublin and worked on the events team for betting company Bet Chronicle. On her return to England, Elsa was employed by the Niarchos Family as Racing Secretary. She spent three valuable years at their London HQ working with racing manager Alan Cooper before deciding to return to her jump racing routes. Elsa and Tom started working together at Dason in July 2011 and married in 2014. Elsa remains closely involved in all aspects of the business and is just getting back into riding after the birth of their first child at the beginning of September 2018.
On The Yard
Travelling Head Lass
New Zealander Jo joined the team here at Dason in Oct 2014 shortly after arriving in the UK. Jo has invaluable experience in all equine spheres and her calm assurance is essential to the running of the yard.
Best part of the job: Leading up winners
When not in the yard: Hiking and sleeping
Ceri joined us from Rebecca Curtis a couple of seasons ago and is a huge asset to the yard and enjoys meeting our owners. She has plenty of experience breaking youngsters and is fearless on the gallops.
Best part of the job: Being physically active outside and not having to go to a gym
When not in the yard: Riding her own horse or by the sea
Beth has masses of equine experience and has recently launched her own equestrian business. She has plenty of experience with racehorses, including many seasons riding out for Venetia Williams.
Best part of the job: A great team of people to work with
When not in the yard: Team chasing
Paddy is also another very experienced rider and joined us this season having previously worked for Venetia Williams.
Best part of the job: Riding nice horses everyday
When not in the yard: Walking Sparky and riding his own horses
Ben has worked with Tom since the start in 2011. He has been riding out since the age of 13 and had 15 Point to Point winners before turning conditional when he came to Dason Court. He now continues to ride out once a week for Tom at home and is regularly at the races for us.
Best part of the job: It doesn't feel like a job when this is your hobby and passion
When not in the yard: Sitting down, preferably in front of the football (when not on the racecourse, that is)
Needless to say the yard could not function properly without the valued support of our Vets - Summerhill Veterinary Practice, Equine (and Human) Chiropractor- Emma Phillips, and Farrier- Ryan Potter.
In The Office
Claire joined us in Feb 2015 part-time and continues to keep the office running smoothly. When not book keeping she is mostly to be found riding her black Morgan mare or singing with Hereford Choral Society.
