A SIMPLY STUNNING start by Kaki

I was hoping that this blog could be about some exciting results and runners to look forward to however the weather has scuppered that possibility. Rather than moan about it we will just be patient and gaze lovingly at our very fresh equine in mates a little longer at home before they go to do battle on the racecourse. One thing is for sure, before they run both owner and trainer continue to dream of what they might be...

Here is something I never thought I would write; our first winner of the season was KAKI DE LA PREE at Worcester in June. He is a very talented horse but one that is incredibly fragile and has a penchant for soft ground. However, the unreliable English weather lent itself well to keeping him going into the Summer months as Sir Peter and Lady Gibbings must have thought me mad when I suggested it. It is strange that the ground is firmer now than it was in June. Thankfully, he came out of the race in good fettle and although plans remain fluid for him we will run him when he and conditions are right. A natural chaser and real character in the yard.

Here is the second thing I did not think I would be writing; we went National Hunt racing at Hereford. Elsa cleverly decided to marry our owners' day with the return of racing at Hereford which was a magic idea. After a relaxed morning at the yard with delicious cake (courtesy of Jane Symonds) and coffee we all

headed off to Hereford where cocktails (The Shack Revolution) and delicious food (Izzie Roper) awaited us all. For once the weather was in our favour and the crowd basked in the sunshine and sound of pounding hooves on Hereford's hallowed turf once again. Tremendous credit must go to Martin Cruddace at ARC for his part in resurrecting the Racecourse and Rebecca Morgan and her team for carrying out all the ground work.

Lastly, the tremendous Herefordshire association continues as we have a new sponsor in Wormelow based SIMPLY STUNNING INTERIORS. We are very excited to have Martin Pearson and his team on board and are grateful for their support. Let's hope we can enjoy some good days together

and hope both business's reap the benefits of our partnership.

A further recruit is Louis the Whippet. He is more thoroughbred than our current canine occupants so is hopefully a new weapon in their arsenal when it comes to being out run by rabbits.
